Nigerian streamer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has questioned the hospital where his close associate and blogger, HushBobby, underwent surgery before his death on September 17, 2026.

Peller also demanded the return of the ₦1.5 million he said he paid towards HushBobby’s medical treatment, while expressing anger over the circumstances surrounding the blogger’s death.

His comments followed HushBobby’s death shortly after undergoing surgery for a ruptured appendix. Peller had earlier said he was informed that the operation had been successful before receiving news of HushBobby’s death.

A medical report issued by Imperial Medical Centre and seen in connection with the incident states that HushBobby was managed as a case of a ruptured appendix.

According to the report, the patient underwent an exploratory laparotomy, appendicectomy and lavage. It stated that he subsequently developed “a fall in the saturation,” after which attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.

The hospital said HushBobby was declared clinically dead at about 1:15pm on September 17.

The medical report does not state that the surgery itself caused the death, nor does it establish negligence by the hospital.

Peller, however, has questioned the treatment HushBobby received and criticised the hospital over the circumstances surrounding his death.

In an emotional reaction that circulated online, the streamer said he had personally paid ₦1.5 million for the surgery and questioned why he was asked to provide the money if the hospital could not save HushBobby.

He also said he was prepared to spend more money on the treatment if necessary.

HushBobby’s mother later accused the hospital of negligence, alleging that medical personnel failed to respond appropriately when her son needed attention. She also questioned the level of monitoring he received while receiving treatment. Those allegations have not been independently established.

Peller subsequently questioned the decision to bury HushBobby quickly, arguing that an autopsy should have been conducted to establish the cause of death. He said the absence of an autopsy made it more difficult to determine what happened before the blogger died.

The circumstances surrounding HushBobby’s death have consequently generated reactions online, with questions focusing on the medical treatment he received, the events following the surgery and whether further medical or investigative examination should have been conducted.

For now, the available hospital report confirms the ruptured appendix, the surgical procedures performed, the subsequent fall in oxygen saturation and the unsuccessful resuscitation attempt. It does not, by itself, establish that the surgery was improperly performed or that the hospital caused his death.
