Troops have rescued two kidnapped victims and arrested 11 suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate during a coordinated security operation in Plateau State.

The operation was carried out on Saturday, September 19, 2026, as part of ongoing military efforts to dismantle criminal networks responsible for kidnappings and violent attacks in communities across the state.

According to security authorities, the rescued victims were freed unharmed after troops raided the suspects’ hideout following intelligence-led surveillance. The operation also led to the arrest of 11 suspected kidnappers believed to be linked to the syndicate operating within the area.

Troops recovered a cache of weapons and other items during the raid, including firearms and ammunition, which investigators believe were used in the group’s criminal activities. The recovered exhibits have been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
