Former Ogun State Governor and Senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, have joined other political leaders to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The leaders participated in a political gathering held on Friday, November 6, 2026, in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, during Tinubu’s official visit to the state.
Daniel, who serves as Deputy Coordinator 1 of the South-West Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, attended the gathering alongside Barau, Eno and other senators and political stakeholders.
Their participation formed part of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s ongoing mobilisation efforts to strengthen support for Tinubu and consolidate the party’s political structures ahead of the next general election.
The President visited Akwa Ibom to inaugurate infrastructure projects executed by the Eno administration and attend a political rally organised in his support.
Among the projects commissioned were the new international terminal building at Victor Attah International Airport, the International Airport Hospital, the Ibom Aviation Village, the Airport-Okopedi Road and Ring Road 3.
Other projects included the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.
The visit also provided an opportunity for political leaders from different parts of the country to demonstrate their support for the President and strengthen cooperation within the ruling party.
At the rally, Governor Eno pledged that Akwa Ibom would deliver two million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, linking the commitment to the Federal Government’s approval of the long-awaited Ibom Deep Seaport project.
“Give us Ibom Deep Seaport, we will deliver two million votes. This deep seaport is capable of unlocking the economy of the state, the South-South region and Nigeria at large,” Eno said.
Tinubu subsequently announced his approval of the project during his address at the gathering.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio also reaffirmed his support for the President, declaring that Akwa Ibom would deliver more than two million votes for him in 2027.
The political gathering came as the APC intensified its mobilisation activities across the country ahead of the general elections scheduled for January 16 and February 6, 2027.
Daniel’s participation also reflected his role in the party’s South-West mobilisation structure, while Barau and Eno represented key political leadership in the National Assembly and the South-South region.
The gathering brought together political office holders, party stakeholders and supporters as the APC continued efforts to build support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
