An Abuja-Kaduna train reportedly suffered a bandit attack on Monday September 14.

Some social media users who shared the story, said the attack went on for 20 minutes before the security operatives on the train repelled the attack.

Facebook user Hassan Mohammed wrote;

BRAZEN Vs. BRAVE

My colleagues were met with shock of their lives today as bandits brazenly attacked and opened fire on the Abuja-Kaduna train. They said, the fight went on for 20 minutes. But our brave security apparatus attached to the train did well in repelling them.

May we never suffer such torment. May Allah protect us from us.

However, in its reaction, the Kaduna State Police Command has debunked the report, saying they were stones and not bullets as widely reported.

According to the Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, some miscreants threw stones at the moving train around Rijana Village, close to Kaduna.

Jalige noted that the train which left Abuja for Kaduna arrived safely.
