The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, according to the Adamawa Police Command.

” The suspected kidnappers targeted one Alhaji Umaru of Nasarawo B, a resident of Ngurore town in Yola South LGA.

“The criminals separated into two groups; one attacked the police station to divert the attention of security operatives, while other group attacked Alhaji Umaru’s house and kidnapped his wife, Hauwa Umaru, and her daughter.

He also claimed that officers had been dispatched to restore order.

“The terrible attack on Ngurore police station and House of Alhaji Umaru of Nasarawo B that ended in the kidnapping of Hawwa Umaru and her daughter” in the early hours of Sunday, according to Nguroje.

Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Crack Squad, and Anti-Kidnapping squads were among the assets deployed, according to Nguroje.

“The operational units are required to conduct confidence-building patrols within the hotspots in coordination with the heroic troops on the ground to rescue the kidnapped victims and apprehend the perpetrators,” said the Police Public Relations Officer.

SP Babagana Abubakar, the Head of the Police Intervention Team, is already on the ground, coordinating Police investigation, operational, and rescue efforts, according to him.

The state police commissioner, he said, asked individuals to conduct themselves in a calm and law-abiding manner and to report any suspicious person(s) in their communities to the police.
