The body governing football in Africa, CAF held the qualifying draw for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Johannesburg, South Africa
The draw saw 48 teams go into four pots, they were placed in these pots based on the latest FIFA rankings. It was done on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, the teams were grouped into 12 teams with 4 teams placed in a group.
Group A: Sao Tome & Principe / Mauritius, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Nigeria
Group B: E-swatini, Togo, Cape Verde, Burkina Faso
Group C: Burundi, Namibia, Kenya, Cameroon
