The former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga, has joined many notable Nigerians to mourn the passing of the All Progressives Congress women leader, Chief Kemi Nelson.

Recall that the late politician died in the early hours of Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the age of 66 after a brief illness.

In a statement made available to Freelanews, Otunba Daniel, who expressed shock at her demise, described the late politician as an upright and passionate human.

“I received with shock the demise of our amazon and trailblazer Chief (Mrs) Kemi Nelson.

“Chief Nelson represented the finest of humans; an upright, passionate and progressive person who always puts the country’s future first. Since her days in The Network Alliance through her several political exploits and in all my numerous encounters with her, she showed genuine commitment to the progress of humanity and womanhood,” he said.

The former governor also revealed that during his service as governor of Ogun state between 2003 and 2011, late Chief Nelson was instrumental to some of his employment generation ideas and initiatives.

“While she will be greatly missed by all, I take solace in the fulfilled life she lived. I pray that God Almighty grant her family the fortitude to bear the irreparable passing,” he mourned.
