SiBAN hosts Digital Asset Summit ’23 to define future of blockchain in Africa

The Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria, SiBAN, has finalized preparations to convene the highly anticipated Digital Asset Summit ’23, set to take place at the prestigious NAF Conference Centre in Abuja, Nigeria.

This two-day event, poised to captivate the blockchain and digital asset ecosystem, is scheduled for September 6th to 7th, 2023.

Obinna Iwuno, the President of SiBAN, made the announcement during a press conference organized by SiBAN. He shared that the event promises to be groundbreaking, uniting industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and enthusiasts from across the globe.

Iwuno who is also serves as the Founder of the Crypto Bootcamp Community, stated, “The Digital Asset Summit ’23 signifies a significant milestone for the blockchain industry in Africa. It’s a testament to Nigeria’s and Africa’s growing influence in the global blockchain landscape.”

He continued, “The Digital Asset Summit ’23 goes beyond the conventional conference experience. It provides a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation. Attendees can anticipate engaging presentations, interactive sessions, and insightful discussions led by global experts.”

Under the theme “Shaping the Future of Blockchain in Africa,” Emeka Ezike, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the conference and Vice President (Media & Publicity) for SiBAN, emphasized the event’s importance: “Digital Asset Summit ’23 underscores SiBAN’s commitment to nurturing the growth and impact of the blockchain industry in Nigeria.”

Ezike, who also serves as the Community Lead at EMURGO Africa, added that by connecting key players and stakeholders, SiBAN aims to raise awareness, foster connections, and accelerate the adoption of digital assets throughout the nation. He highlighted that a key event during the summit will be the stakeholders’ roundtable, where prominent figures will convene to discuss and shape the future of blockchain in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

“We have organized this event strategically to champion the interests of participants in this rapidly evolving space. Holding this event in Abuja is pivotal for us because it serves as a central location for all our members across the country and is in proximity to the seat of political power in Nigeria,” he added.

The summit has garnered substantial support from key partners and sponsors who are actively shaping the blockchain ecosystem in Africa. Franklin Peters, Vice President (Projects, Funding & Strategic Partnerships) for SiBAN and Founder of BoundlessPay, explained that these partnerships align with the association’s spirit of collaboration and growth.

Additionally, we are partnering with ZEBEC, a Multi-Chain Continuous Settlement Protocol dedicated to the future of blockchain payments, and COINEX, a renowned cryptocurrency exchange platform offering secure and user-friendly services to traders and investors.

Iwuno also mentioned that the upcoming conference has garnered sponsorships from vent.africa, an automated crypto trading platform facilitating seamless crypto-to-cash transactions; Convexity, a blockchain solutions and consultancy agency specializing in innovative applications; and Tresura by ShutterScore, an all-in-one product suite for global financial services.
