At the centre of attention was the Award of Excellence in Agribusiness, presented to Barr. Adetunji Adegboyega, the Managing Director and CEO of Abundish Nigeria Limited, for his remarkable contributions to agricultural entrepreneurship and youth empowerment.

The award was part of a broader event themed around innovation and sustainability in the sector. The keynote lecture, titled “The Place of Smart Agriculture in Ensuring Food Security,” was delivered by Prof. Kolawole Adebayo, Immediate Past Vice-Chancellor (Development) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

He called for urgent conservation strategies and forward-thinking practices to tackle land degradation and food insecurity in Nigeria.

Barr. Adegboyega attended the event with his team members, Young and Paul, joining a wide audience of academics, students, and agricultural stakeholders.

The day also featured performances and exhibitions, including a moving spoken word piece by rising artist Khaleda Simola, also known as The Dynamic Hadja, who voiced the challenges of Nigerian youth, food inflation, and the pressing demand for systemic reform.

Notable personalities in attendance included the Chairman of the Day, Dr. Adebola Ismail Akindele, Group Managing Director of Courtville Business Solutions; Prof. Olalekan J. Soyelu, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture; and representatives of royal dignitaries such as Oba (Dr.) Jesph Olubiyi Toriola (Ajibise Ogo I), the Ogunsua of Modakeke.

The presence and recognition of Abundish Nigeria Limited reinforced its growing impact in agri-tech innovation, with a focus on sustainability and youth-led transformation in the sector.

Reflecting on the occasion, the company stated:

“This award belongs not only to our MD/CEO, but to every young farmer, every AgriPreneur, and every dreamer striving to nourish the nation and transform the land.”

In his acceptance remarks, Barr. Adegboyega underscored the role of innovation and collaboration in agriculture:
