Magistrate Marke Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown has remanded Access Bank Sierra Leone Staff over alleged fake USD 100,000 notes.
The Accused, Yayah Billah Sillah, a driver at the Bank, and Komba Fillie also staff at the Bank are facing two counts charges of possession of counterfeit notes and issuing of fake notes contrary to Section 34(1) (b) of the Bank of Sierra Leone Act of 2019.

Meanwhile, the Police alleged that the first accused Sillah on Saturday 17 September 2022 at the Access Bank head office on Siaka Stevens Street in Freetown; was found in possession of one hundred thousand dollars ($100) note with a serial number ME01504825B suspected to be counterfeit notes
Police further alleged that the second accused Fillie on the same day at Wilkinson Road in Freetown; issued one hundred dollars ($100) notes with the same serial number to Yayah Billah Sillah reasonably suspected to have been fake.
However the witness Police Prosecutor Sergeant 9939 Lahai Momoh requested an adjournment date. He stated that the witness who was supposed to testify is an employee of the Bank, adding that the witness was expected to produce certain documents which are important to the prosecution’s case.
The accused persons were unable to meet bail conditions.
