Governor Adeleke hails Davido’s campaign role, praising his influence and energy to mobilise young voters ahead of Osun election
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has formally welcomed music star Davido into his re-election campaign structure, praising his influence on youth mobilisation.

The governor confirmed the development during a press conference following Davido’s visit to the state after his recent appointment.
Davido, whose full name is David Adeleke, was named Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Council Committee, a role aimed at engaging young voters ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Governor Adeleke described the appointment as strategic, noting that the singer brings energy, reach and passion needed to inspire Osun’s youth population.
The governor said Davido had consistently supported his political journey and remained a strong mobiliser within the campaign structure.
“Today, I warmly welcome my nephew and global music icon, David Adeleke, back home and into our campaign,” Governor Adeleke said.
He added that the administration had implemented policies over the past three years to support youth growth across sectors in the state.
Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to citizens’ welfare, assuring residents that their interests would remain a priority under his leadership.
Davido earlier expressed excitement about his role, stating his readiness to contribute to a smooth and impactful campaign.
The visit attracted significant public attention, with the singer receiving a warm and ceremonial welcome in the state, reflecting his widespread appeal among young people.
