The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has declared its complete support for the recently proposed code of conduct dubbed Advertising Industry Standard Of Practice (AISOP) by the regulatory organization Advertising Practitioners Council Of Nigeria (APCON).
As a major stakeholder in the Media Broadcasting Ecosystem, we carefully considered and reviewed the AISOP Policy document, and we strongly believe that proper implementation and monitoring will go a long way toward charting a new positive course and providing better opportunities for Content Owners, other Industry stakeholders, and the Media Advertising Industry in general.

We would like to use this medium to assure the APCON Registrar, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, that EMCOAN and all of her members will not only comply with the new AISOP guidelines, which ensure globally accepted best practices and standards in the industry, but will also assist with stakeholder orientation and publicizing the benefits of AISOP to the Media Advertising/Broadcast Industry as a whole.

EMCOAN will provide the Registrar and the APCON team with the necessary assistance to ensure appropriate implementation and compliance with the AISOP policy among the rank and file of the industry’s stakeholders.
This is significant because if strong steps are not taken to punish violators of the new policy, things will revert to “business as usual.” As a result, adequate orientation, implementation, and continuous evaluation will be critical to guaranteeing the success of the new AISOP rules.

Once again, we congratulate the APCON Registrar and we declare our unalloyed support for him and his team for various laudable efforts to ensuring that the Industry becomes a better place for practitioners and other stakeholders.
