Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, said the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration remains dedicated to strengthening the creative industry and positioning music as a key driver of development.
Toke Benson-Awoyinka described Lagos as Africa’s cultural and creative capital, encouraging cross-cultural collaboration and the use of arts and culture to promote innovation, youth empowerment, tourism, and economic growth.
The Commissioner commended strategic partners, including the British High Commission, for supporting cultural exchange and creative diplomacy. She added that AFRIMA amplifies African voices on a global stage while fostering employment and continental integration.

Mike Dada said the awards platform supports broader developmental frameworks, including Agenda 2063, and is designed to promote peace-building, youth empowerment, and continental unity.
