Liverpool Newcastle comeback win thrills Anfield as a dominant second half seals a commanding 4-1 Premier League victory

Liverpool FC delivered a ruthless second-half display to secure a commanding 4-1 victory over Newcastle United in a Premier League encounter at Anfield on Saturday night.

Liverpool FC controlled early possession but fell behind in the 36th minute when Anthony Gordon struck from the edge of the area to hand Newcastle United a surprise lead and briefly silence the home support.

The setback jolted Liverpool FC into a rapid response. Hugo Ekitike restored parity in the 41st minute after reacting fastest to a loose ball inside the penalty area and finishing calmly past Nick Pope.

Two minutes later, Hugo Ekitike struck again, completing the turnaround before the interval with a sharp finish that sent Liverpool FC into the break leading 2-1.

Liverpool FC emerged after halftime with renewed intensity, pressing Newcastle United deep into their half and circulating possession with patience and purpose.

The sustained pressure paid off in the 67th minute when Florian Wirtz capitalised on hesitation in the Newcastle United defence to slot home Liverpool FC’s third goal, a decisive moment that shifted the contest firmly in the hosts’ favour.

Newcastle United attempted to mount a response through long-range efforts from Sandro Tonali and tactical changes from manager Eddie Howe, but the attempts were comfortably managed by a composed Liverpool FC backline marshalled by goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Mohamed Salah spurned a clear late opportunity, yet Liverpool FC’s dominance was eventually rewarded again in stoppage time.

In the 93rd minute, Ibrahima Konaté reacted quickest to a loose ball from a corner and fired into the bottom corner to complete an emphatic 4-1 scoreline and underline a powerful performance.
