‘After 9 years ‘ Chelsea parts way with Victor Moses as he join Spartak Moscow permanently

Chelsea FC have announced the permanent departure of Victor Moses, former Super Eagles winger, after nine years at the club.

The 30-year-old penned a two-year deal with Russia’s Spartak Moscow after spending the entirety of last season at the club.

The Blues broke the news of the transfer on their official website on Friday.

“Victor Moses has today completed a permanent transfer to Spartak Moscow. The move brings to an end the wideman’s nine-year Chelsea career and returns him to the Russian Premier League club, where he made 20 appearances on loan last season,” the statement read.

Moses joined the London club in 2012 from Wigan, playing 128 times for the team.

He scored 18 goals and won the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League.

The Nigerian joined the Russian outfit last summer on loan after failing to win over Frank Lampard, the then Chelsea manager.

The move was Moses sixth loan deal since he joined Chelsea, having spent short terms with Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham, Fenerbache and Inter Milan.

He made an impression in Moscow, proving instrumental as Spartak finished runner up to Zenit St. Petersburg in the Russian league.

Moses, a scorer of 12 goals in 37 appearances for Nigeria, played at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups and was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the African Nations Cup in 2013.
