Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim honours GAC leaders with a historic frame presented to Lagos Speaker Obasa, celebrating unity and Lagos political legacy.
Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim has honoured GAC leaders with a carefully curated historic frame celebrating the unity and political legacy of Lagos State’s top decision-making body.
The renowned political journalist and publisher of August24news.com presented the 24-by-34-inch Governance Advisory Council (GAC) frame to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, at the Speaker’s office in Ikeja.
The frame displays the names, photographs, local governments and senatorial districts of all 35 serving members of the GAC, alongside a special tribute to eight late members, including Chief Kemi Nelson and Oba Olatunji Hamzat.
Teslim described the initiative as a gesture to showcase the council’s unity and to honour its sterling contribution to Lagos’ political stability since the era of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as governor.
Speaking during the presentation, Teslim said the creative tribute aimed to inspire Lagos leaders to remain dedicated to service.
Obasa received the frame in high spirits, commending Teslim and the August24news editorial team for their research and ingenuity.
“We wanted to celebrate the wisdom and unity of the 35 men and women whose work has become a model of good governance. This project also promotes the political heritage that continues to shape Lagos as a model state,” he stated.
Lagos Assembly Speaker Obasa received the frame in high spirits, commending Teslim and the August24news editorial team for their research and ingenuity.
He said the frame would be preserved in the Assembly’s archives to serve as an enduring record of the council’s leaders for future generations.
Obasa also called for a minute of silence in honour of the late GAC members, describing them as legends whose contributions helped define the city’s governance.
GAC secretary Alhaji Mutiu Are lauded the gesture, calling the council “one of the enduring beauties of Lagos politics.”
Political analyst and publisher of Upshot Media, Mojeed Jamiu, also praised Teslim for recognising the council’s immense role in fostering unity and good governance.
Teslim announced that further presentations would be made to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Dr Obafemi Hamzat, all 57 council chairmen, and other key political leaders across the state.
