In the aftermath of the tragic boat accident that claimed the life of beloved Nollywood actor Junior Pope, actress Angela Okorie has taken to social media to voice her criticism of fellow actor Zubby Michael’s conspicuous absence from public mourning.
Okorie’s public condemnation of Michael’s silence surfaced after social media users noticed his lack of response to the devastating incident. In a fiery comment under a blog post, Okorie suggested that personal and professional animosities within the industry influenced Michael’s decision to remain silent regarding the tragedy.
Accusing Michael of prioritizing personal ambitions over genuine relationships, Okorie asserted that his failure to publicly mourn Junior Pope was indicative of deeper rifts within the industry. She alleged that Michael’s aspirations to ascend to the top of Nollywood’s hierarchy have led him to engage in conflicts with his peers, including Junior Pope.
In her comment, Okorie emphasized that Junior Pope, whom she referred to as Michael’s senior, held no regard for him due to his contentious behavior within the industry. She insinuated that Michael’s reluctance to acknowledge Junior Pope’s passing stemmed from unresolved tensions and ambitions for dominance within Nollywood.
