Olatubosun Alake, the convener of the conference and Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, Lagos State, emphasized the significance of AOT 5.0 in bringing together policymakers, tech enthusiasts, creatives, innovators, and ecosystem leaders. The aim is to converge and unravel the symbiotic relationship between creativity and technology, influencing the trajectory of Lagos State’s future.

Mr. Alake highlighted, “AOT 5.0 focuses on two pillars – ‘The Creative Economy’ and ‘A Digital Lagos,’ where policymakers, tech enthusiasts, creatives, innovators, and ecosystem leaders, shaping the future in their various fields will converge to explore the symbiotic relationship between creativity and technology.”

Victor Afolabi, Curator of the Art of Technology Lagos, underscored the role of technology as a versatile toolbox for creators and innovators. He emphasized how it offers new mediums, tools, platforms, and methods for expression and problem-solving within the creative economy. “The creative economy sector of Lagos State is driven by a highly skilled and innovative workforce using technology to solve multifaceted problems with art,” Mr. Afolabi noted.

Digital art platforms have expanded the horizons of traditional mediums, enabling artists and creatives to push the boundaries of their expression through technology. Industries like film, music, fashion, design, and advertising utilize technology to amplify their art forms and address challenges in their respective domains, significantly impacting the economy.

Art of Technology Lagos, an annual tech conference curated by the Eko Innovation Centre and sponsored by the Lagos State Government, stands as the economic and technology epicenter of Nigeria. The event aims to bring together pioneers, professionals, and enthusiasts to strategize and propel the tech and creative industries in the state to greater heights.

AOT 5.0 promises a dynamic agenda, including the exploration of synergies between creativity and technology, an examination of the digital transformation of Lagos, collaborative networking with industry stakeholders, and empowering creatives with the tools needed to navigate the evolving landscape.

More than just a conference, AOT 5.0 positions itself as a catalyst for change, shaping the future landscape of the creative economy and digital transformation in Lagos.
