Controversial social media personality Blessing CEO, whose real name is Nkiru Blessing Okoro, has released an emotional video apologising to those she hurt and begging for a second chance.
In the tearful clip shared on her Instagram page, the self-styled relationship expert said she was lost, confused and in deep pain. She also mourned the death of her young son, who passed away while she was remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
Blessing CEO said the loss had affected her, the boy’s grandmother and his brother. She described herself as the biblical prodigal son who had learnt hard lessons and was ready to start afresh.
Her appeal for a second chance has drawn mixed reactions from the public. Many Nigerians have expressed scepticism, citing her long history of controversies.
These include allegations of husband-snatching, claims of living a fake lifestyle, a disputed stage-4 cancer diagnosis that attracted public donations, and most recently, a ₦69.15 million Lekki property fraud case that led to her detention at Kirikiri for several months.
Although a court granted her ₦20 million bail, she remained in custody for an extended period because she could not meet the conditions. She was eventually released last month.
Public reactions to her latest video have been largely critical, with many describing the apology as manipulative and questioning its sincerity given her pattern of releasing emotional content after controversies.
