Popular Nigerian skit maker and livestreamer Carter Efe has come under intense scrutiny over conflicting claims surrounding his relationship with his baby mama, Emmanuella.

The controversy began after Carter announced on Instagram and X that they had been separated for over a year.

He described the period as emotionally draining, financially difficult, and damaging to his creative output.

Carter claimed Emmanuella blocked him for about five months and resurfaced after his rise as a Twitch streamer.

He said his recent success followed collaborations with international creators, including American rapper DDG.

According to him, the separation affected his mental health and career progress.

In emotional Instagram Story posts, Carter alleged the relationship ruined his mindset and finances.

“For two years I lost everything. I got broke and couldn’t create,” he wrote.

He also claimed he could not see his child for several months.

Carter said relocating away from Emmanuella helped him regain stability and happiness.

“I’ve been happy and active since I moved away. God is good,” he added.

He accused Emmanuella of returning only after his career gained momentum, describing her actions as opportunistic.

However, influencer JoJo of Lele publicly challenged Carter’s claims.

She accused him of repeatedly abusing Emmanuella and forcing her out of their home.

The situation escalated after activist VeryDarkMan shared videos showing Emmanuella appearing emotionally distressed.

VeryDarkMan reiterated allegations that Carter physically abused her.

“I specifically said he beats his wife,” he wrote.

The videos triggered widespread reactions online, with many interpreting them as signs of emotional trauma.

Carter has not responded directly to the videos.

In response, Emmanuella released a video on Instagram disputing Carter’s claims.

She said they were together just days before his public announcement.

“We were together three days ago,” she stated.

She accused Carter of misrepresenting their relationship and controlling her finances.

Emmanuella alleged she had to visit him before receiving money for their child.

She also accused him of restricting her freedom and career growth.

“He stopped me from working, acting, and keeping friends,” she claimed.

She further alleged Carter isolated her from family and friends.

Emmanuella also accused him of threatening her before his social media posts.

“He said he would destroy my image and block my platforms,” she alleged.
