The Central Bank of Nigeria unveils its revamped website, featuring modern design, enhanced functionality, and a focus on transparency.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially launched its revamped website, marking a significant step towards modernising its digital presence.

The bank unveiled the new platform on Monday, emphasising enhanced user experience, improved accessibility, and a commitment to transparency and accountability.

In a statement, Sidi Ali, the acting Director of Corporate Communications, highlighted the website’s advanced features, including a contemporary Web API built on Microsoft .NET Core 8, ensuring seamless navigation and a faster browsing experience.

“The redesigned website introduces a variety of new content, which encompasses a broader spectrum of information regarding the Bank’s mandate,” the statement read.

“Additionally, the website is responsive to mobile devices, facilitating navigation across various web browsers and devices.”

CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso previously announced the website overhaul at the 30th Nigerian Economic Summit in October, positioning the move as part of the bank’s broader initiative to foster transparency and strengthen stakeholder trust.

“Our website is about to be significantly overhauled,” Cardoso stated. “This redesign supports our commitment to transparency and openness, providing stakeholders with better access to information and a more user-friendly experience.”

The revamped website includes expanded resources detailing the bank’s mandate, operations, and policies, enabling users to gain a clearer understanding of its economic objectives and achievements.

The website’s in-house development underscores CBN’s focus on leveraging domestic expertise for innovation. It is optimised for both desktop and mobile platforms, catering to Nigeria’s growing population of mobile internet users.

By prioritising user experience and accessibility, the CBN aims to ensure that the redesigned platform not only serves as a reliable source of information but also aligns with the digital expectations of modern users.

The launch of the revamped website reflects the CBN’s strategic shift towards integrating technology in its operations.

In addition to providing real-time updates and resources, the platform is expected to streamline interactions between the bank and its stakeholders.

As Nigeria’s financial landscape evolves, the Central Bank’s commitment to digital transformation highlights its readiness to adapt and lead in an increasingly digitalised world.
