The state government of Oyo is planning to rename the state-owned Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Ladoke Akintola University.
This was agreed at today’s state executive meeting in Ibadan, when the executive members passed a bill to amend the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso Law to reflect the proposed change of the institution’s name to Ladoke Akintola University (LAU).
The bill, as released, will also change its objectives to allow the university to offer courses in the arts and humanities, as approved by the National Universities Commission.
