Nigerian singer Chidinma Ekile has revealed that she once left Nigeria with plans to settle abroad permanently, but later returned after receiving encouragement from the chief executive of Eezee Conceptz, the music company she eventually joined as a gospel artiste.
The singer shared the experience at a recent Eezee Conceptz event, where she explained that she travelled abroad and began processing documents to enable her to remain there.

According to Chidinma, she had no intention of returning to Nigeria, but her plans did not work out as expected.
“I travelled. I ran away from Nigeria. I was processing my papers not to come back to Nigeria, but for some reason, it didn’t work,” she said.
Chidinma said the chief executive of Eezee Conceptz was the only person from Nigeria who continued to contact and encourage her while she was abroad.
She explained that the music executive’s calls helped her find the strength to return home.
After returning to Nigeria, the singer approached him for a gospel music contract, explaining that she wanted to dedicate more time to her relationship with God.
“When I came back, I asked him to give me a gospel music contract because I want to spend time with God. And he gave me a contract that even my lawyer said seemed like a charity,” she said.
Her account highlights the role the music executive’s support played in her decision to return and pursue a different direction in her career.
The singer also explained that her transition from secular music to gospel was not initially motivated by a desire to become a gospel musician.
Instead, she said her decision was driven by a personal desire to develop a closer relationship with God.
Her remarks offer insight into the personal considerations behind her departure from mainstream secular music and her subsequent move into gospel music.
