The initiative aims to empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by facilitating their transition from traditional cash-based transactions to more secure and easily traceable digital payment methods.

According to a statement released on Monday, the campaign unfolded across three significant markets in Port Harcourt, namely Garrison Computer Village, Rumukalagbor Market, and Rumuomasi Market.

The roadshow, organised in collaboration with Eligbam City, witnessed enthusiastic participation from numerous small business owners, many of whom were new to digital point-of-sale (POS) systems and reconciliation tools.

Over several days, the Credo team actively engaged with traders in these bustling markets through a series of live demonstrations, comprehensive onboarding sessions, and informative business support workshops.

“We are not just building a payment solution, we’re building confidence in the future of small businesses.” – Omokorede Amund, Product Marketing Manager for Credo by eTranzact

Speaking at the event, Omokorede Amund, the Product Marketing Manager for Credo by eTranzact, emphasized that the primary goal of the activation was to cultivate trust and provide sustained, long-term support to the vital small business sector.

“We are not just building a payment solution, we’re building confidence in the future of small businesses,” Amund stated, highlighting the broader vision behind the initiative.

The statement further noted that the campaign directly addressed key concerns commonly voiced by traders, including the security of digital transactions, delays in daily settlements, and the perceived complexity of digital payment tools.

By engaging directly with the traders in their operating environments, Credo aimed to demystify digital payments and showcase their practical benefits.

“Port Harcourt is full of hustle and innovation; this roadshow allowed us to meet business owners where they are and demonstrate practical ways they can benefit from digital payments,” Amund added, underscoring the importance of on-the-ground engagement.

The initiative also incorporated an engaging raffle draw, which rewarded participating traders with valuable items such as WiFi routers, cash gifts, and essential business tools.

This immediate value offered an added incentive for attendees to embrace and adopt the Credo platform.

For a significant number of local MSMEs, the Credo campaign marked their first tangible exposure to a digital payment solution specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of small-scale businesses.
