Cubana Chiefpriest claims party support after APC primary defeat in Imo

Cubana Chiefpriest reacts to APC primary defeat in Imo, claiming continued party support and alleged luxury gift after losing House of Reps ticket

Paschal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, lost the party ticket to incumbent lawmaker Canice Nwachukwu during the APC primary ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The outcome had initially sparked widespread online reactions and political commentary.

Speaking during a live TikTok session with content creator Peller, the businessman insisted that his political setback had not affected his standing within the ruling party.

He claimed that influential figures within the APC were still treating him favourably despite the defeat.

Cubana Chiefpriest stated that critics misunderstanding the situation were unaware of developments behind the scenes, suggesting that his political journey remained active despite the loss.

In a notable claim that has drawn public attention, he alleged that a party chairman gifted him a brand-new vehicle following the primary election defeat, describing it as a gesture of support rather than consolation.

The businessman also referenced previous political conversations surrounding his affiliations, including comments about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s perceived trust concerns linked to his earlier association with opposition figures. These remarks have continued to fuel debate on social media.

Reactions have since trailed his comments, with supporters and critics divided over his claims and political positioning within the APC structure.
