The Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted 6,240 sacks of dynamite explosives in Kebbi State.

Disclosing this was the Kebbi State Comptroller of Customs, Ernest Iheanacho, who said a joint border patrol team intercepted the sacks along Yauri-Jega Road.

He said the explosives were loaded in a canter vehicle with registration number Zur 882 ZY. He said the driver of the vehicle Abdullahi Aliyu, was arrested. According to him the sacks were to be delivered to one Alhaji Mustapha Garba Jega, the receiver.

Iheanacho said upon confirmation by the intelligence units of the joint patrol team that the sacks contained explosives, the Kebbi State Command of the NCS, handed them over to the Department of State Services.

He said a Haojue motorcycle was impounded in connection with the seized explosives.
