A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adeleke has been one of Oyo State’s most recognisable figures since he emerged in 1998 as the PDP’s first South-West Youth Leader.
Over two decades later, he is still regarded as a formidable grassroots organiser, with party insiders noting that no PDP candidate in his constituency has ever lost an election under his watch.
Currently serving as Chairman of the PDP caretaker committee in Ekiti State, Adeleke faces the delicate task of rebuilding party cohesion ahead of the 2026 governorship elections.
Colleagues describe him as fearless yet pragmatic, combining the courage to confront entrenched interests with the wisdom to extend an olive branch to emerging politicians.
In public service, Adeleke is remembered for transforming Pacesetters Transport Services during his chairmanship between 2019 and 2023.
Once dismissed as a “cemetery of motor vehicles,” the service became a functioning transport system credited with restoring pride to Oyo State and Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
Tributes today reflected both his political and personal impact. Chief Bode George, former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, praised him as “a cerebral leader, a loyal party member, and a Nigerian of great integrity.”
The Association of Ibadan Indigenes in the USA hailed him as “a pragmatic and illustrious son of Ibadan land,” while the Ibadan Youth Vanguard described him as “a lion among men” for his courage in speaking truth to power.
Beyond politics, Adeleke is widely known as a philanthropist and family man. A father of two successful children, he has supported many more through scholarships and mentorship.
His quiet generosity across Oyo and the South-West has earned him a reputation as a humble benefactor with a heart of gold.
As Nigeria moves towards another decisive election cycle, many believe Adeleke’s greatest legacy will not only be in politics but also in the countless lives he has touched.
Away from public life, he finds joy in polo and golf, reminders of the lighter side of a man being celebrated today as both leader and Omoluabi.
