Davido warns Cubana Chief Priest against joining the Wizkid and Burna Boy feud as tensions rise among Nigerian music stars

Nigerian music star Davido has cautioned his close associate Cubana Chief Priest against swelling in the ongoing feud between Wizkid and Burna Boy, urging restraint as tensions escalated online.

Davido issued the warning in a now-deleted response on social media after Cubana Chief Priest joined the exchange with a series of remarks that drew attention.

“CP free this matter biko,” Davido wrote, signalling his intention to distance his camp from the intensifying dispute. The move quickly became a focal point in discussions surrounding the clash.

The latest round of exchanges began after Burna Boy appeared to take aim at DJ Tunez, sharing a video of himself vibing while making pointed remarks.

Wizkid responded sharply, escalating the situation with strong criticism that further fuelled the already volatile atmosphere.

Cubana Chief Priest’s entry into the feud added a new layer to the dispute.

The socialite mocked elements of the exchange, appearing to reference earlier controversies, and expressed amusement at the unfolding drama.

His comments, however, prompted Davido’s swift intervention.

Davido warns Cubana Chief Priest moment reflects growing efforts among key figures to avoid deeper entanglement in a rivalry that has repeatedly dominated headlines within Nigeria’s music industry.

The tensions are not without history. Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest have previously clashed, with past disputes spilling into public view.

During one such episode, Burna Boy offered financial assistance to an individual linked to the socialite, a move that later became embroiled in further allegations and counterclaims.

Cubana Chief Priest has also publicly denied claims related to paternity and financial responsibility, maintaining that he would never abandon any of his children.

Despite these lingering issues, Davido’s intervention suggests a deliberate attempt to de-escalate the situation, even as online exchanges continue to attract widespread attention.

For now, the rivalry between Wizkid and Burna Boy remains a dominant talking point, with industry observers watching closely to see whether calls for restraint will have any lasting impact.
