Desmond Elliot denies gay allegations

Desmond Elliot

Desmond Elliot denies gay rumours, calling them baseless and unworthy of response, focusing instead on his positive impact in society.

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ollywood star and Lagos State politician Desmond Elliot has spoken out about recent allegations of homosexuality, stating that the claims are unfounded and do not affect his commitment to serving the public.

Elliot, who was recently named on a circulated list of Nigerian celebrities allegedly involved in homosexuality, addressed the rumours in a recent interview with TVC, dismissing them as baseless gossip.

In the viral interview, Elliot shared his view that responding to such accusations would serve no purpose, as they neither “reduce nor increase” his life.

He remarked, “Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it did not reduce or increase my life? Secondly, it is an opinion that is being conceived.”

Elliot emphasised that he chooses to focus on the positive impact he can make rather than engage with unfounded speculations.

“As long as I’m affecting people positively, I’m good,” he explained, adding, “Let me state it very clearly that I am straight.”

The rumours, which sparked a strong reaction on social media, reflect the challenges faced by public figures in Nigeria who often contend with personal speculation and gossip.

Elliot’s stance highlights his commitment to his political and community work, as he prioritises addressing issues that have a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
