It is no longer news that the popular Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka James (Lanre Omiyinka) popularly called Baba Ijesha, has been arrested and confessed to defiling a 14year old girl.

The victim’s aunt and who also doubles as her mum, a popular comedienne, Princess Damilola Adekonya, caught Baba Ijesha right in the act and had since reported the case at Sabo Police Station on April 19, 2021 where it was transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba.

According to available narratives, the comedienne brought the actor into her home when her daughter was 7years old and that singular act of benevolence to a colleague in need had led to a lifetime of woe sfor her.

An anonymous source who spoke with an online media platform, TheBroadway TV, revealed that the suspect started assaulting her daughter when the victim’s mum brought him into her home when he had financial issues.

“When Baba Ijesha ran into financial and marital crises in 2014, Princess the Comedian was one of the few people who offered to help him and habour him in her house for months.

“It was during this time Baba Ijesha started defiling the comedienne’s 7years old daughter whenever they were left at home alone.

“At the beginning, the comedienne was not aware of the sexual abuse but subsequently the daughter started manifesting some sexual traits amongst her friends in primary school. These included touching boys, sitting on their legs and touching their private parts.

“These led the school to invite the mum for meeting to discuss the cause and also issue a warning,” the source said.

It was alleged that despite this, the girl didn’t stop and was asked to be withdrawn from the school by the authority.

“Without knowing the cause, the distraught mum would beat the girl, take her for prayers, fast and cry.

“The issue wrecked her emotionally because she couldn’t understand the humiliating acts her poor daughter was manifesting.”

On a fateful day, while Princess, as the mum is fondly called, was watching television with her daughter and Baba Ijesha was showed on the screen, it was alleged that the girl acted irritated. The mum was worried and persuaded the victim to tell her why she reacted in such manner, especially when Baba Ijesha should have been a friend of the family.

“The girl opened up to her mum that Baba Ijesha has been sexually assaulting her since she was 7years old!”

Princess was perplexed due to the respect she had for the veteran actor. She understood that if she confronted the actor without an evidence, he may deny. So she decided to install CCTV camera around the house and baited him.

“The mum invited Baba Ijesha to her house for a script conference. She then left the actor with her now 14years old daughter and to her surprise, the suspect defiled the girl again while her mother watched.

“She confronted him with the evidence and the actor not only confessed but also pleaded that the footages shouldn’t be released to save his career,” the source said.
