Donnie McClurkin denies sexual allegations in Manhattan lawsuit, calling claims “categorically false” and reaffirming his innocence

Grammy-winning gospel singer and pastor Donnie McClurkin has denied sexual allegations made against him in a lawsuit filed in Manhattan State Supreme Court.

The lawsuit, submitted on Friday, claims that McClurkin abused his former assistant, Giuseppe Corletto, over several years while acting as both his spiritual mentor and employer.

The plaintiff alleges that the abuse began in 2003 after he sought spiritual guidance from McClurkin while struggling to reconcile his sexuality with his Christian faith.

Corletto reportedly cited an email in which McClurkin described himself as a “dirty ‘old man.”

McClurkin, 66, rejected the claims through his attorney, describing them as “categorically false.”

In a statement shared on his official Instagram handle, the gospel icon said: “With all humility, faith, and deep respect for Christ and this global gospel music and ministry community which has shaped my life, my calling, and my character, I want to state clearly and unequivocally that these allegations are contrived and untrue.”

His legal team emphasised that while true victims of abuse must be heard and protected, Corletto has not presented truthful claims.

McClurkin’s statement reiterated his commitment to integrity and transparency in both his ministry and music career.

The lawsuit has drawn significant attention in the gospel music community and among McClurkin’s followers, highlighting the sensitivity of allegations involving spiritual mentors and their proteges.
