Held at Anthill Apartments in the Federal Capital Territory, the event gathered corporate directors, policymakers, and governance experts for a dialogue themed “From Control to Collaboration: Reimagining Leadership Mindsets for a New Generation.”
In her keynote remarks, Dr. Tamuno highlighted the urgent need for directors to break free from siloed leadership structures and adopt a partnership-driven approach to economic renewal.
She tied her vision to the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, encouraging inclusive private sector participation and strategic alliances across all levels of governance and industry.
“In the Caribbean, they dream of returning to Nigeria. The Motherland is here—but we must make it viable. As directors, you are the engine room of this transformation. Let us build industries, create opportunities, and grow businesses that support our future,” she said.
Dr. Tamuno also acknowledged the support of FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike, praising his infrastructural drive and reforms in Abuja as a key foundation for investment readiness.
CIoD President, Otunba Adetunji Oyebanji, lauded the event’s theme as timely, noting that Nigeria’s business ecosystem must embrace adaptive leadership.
“Control-based models are no longer enough. Directors must listen, empower, and evolve,” he said.
The session featured a keynote by energy expert Mrs. Rose Eshiett, who provided insight into adaptive leadership in Nigeria’s energy landscape.
