Educate 2 Empower launches a bold advocacy campaign with film, digital action, and outreach to dismantle barriers to girl-child education in Nigeria
Educate 2 Empower has launched a bold advocacy initiative aimed at breaking down the barriers preventing millions of Nigerian girls from accessing education.
The campaign, a partnership between Buckwyld Media Network and Entertainment & Creative Partners (ECP), will spotlight girl-child education through storytelling, digital engagement, and direct empowerment.
At its core is Adda: Empowered by Education, a documentary telling the remarkable story of Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, Nigeria’s first female President of the Court of Appeal.
The film will be broadcast to an estimated 50 million viewers on 11 October 2025, the International Day of the Girl Child.
Nigeria faces a pressing crisis with more than 18 million children out of school, over 60% of them girls.
The situation is most severe in the North, where states like Bauchi, Borno, Kebbi, Sokoto, Yobe, and Zamfara record over half of primary-age children excluded from education.

“Every girl left behind is a future leader denied. Educate 2 Empower is not just a campaign—it is a movement to ensure that girls in Nigeria are seen, heard, and given a fighting chance,” the organisers said.
Founder and CEO of Buckwyld Media, Efe Omorogbe, explained: “Our decision to pursue this cause is driven by a sense of duty and the recognition of the power of storytelling. Film has the ability to shift perspectives and spark action. By combining it with digital engagement, we believe Educate 2 Empower can contribute significantly to reversing this unacceptable situation.”
The campaign will feature a one-minute Online Career Day Challenge, scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and a prize-giving ceremony involving corporate sponsors, government officials, and development partners.
Through TV broadcasts, digital platforms, and stakeholder engagement, the initiative seeks to ignite behavioural change and create tangible opportunities for girls aged 10 to 15.
Corporate and NGO partners are being invited to support the project, with sponsorships tied to UN Sustainable Development Goals on education and gender equality.

Partners will gain visibility across media platforms, CSR impact, community goodwill, and long-term brand value.
Educate 2 Empower is calling on all stakeholders to stand with Nigerian girls. With collective action, the organisers aim to return 50,000 girls to school by September 2026, transforming lives and shaping the nation’s future.
