Veteran Nigerian musician Eedris Abdulkareem has sharply criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, stating that the current hardship in the country surpasses the challenges faced during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s tenure.
Abdulkareem, known for his outspoken political commentary, expressed his frustrations through his latest song, “Emilokan.”
In the song, Abdulkareem highlights the persistent issues of hardship and insecurity under Tinubu’s government. He condemns the administration for shifting blame to the previous government instead of addressing the ongoing crises. Abdulkareem’s lyrics point out a recurring pattern where each administration blames its predecessor: “Tinubu government blames Buhari, Buhari government blamed Jonathan. Hunger dey, people dey die. This one don pass JagaJaga. Emilokan oti ebi lokan.”
Abdulkareem’s reference to his earlier hit, “Nigeria Jagajaga,” which criticized the Obasanjo government, underscores his view that the current situation has deteriorated even further. His song “Emilokan” reflects the widespread dissatisfaction among Nigerians facing economic hardship and insecurity.
