Oyebanji, who previously served as a senior lecturer in the Department of Educational Management, has now attained professorial rank in the same department.

Her promotion forms part of a wider academic advancement exercise through which the university elevated 46 members of its academic staff to higher ranks.

According to the report, 23 academics were promoted from reader to professor, while another 23 were elevated from senior lecturer to reader.

The promotions take effect from different dates spanning 2017 to 2025, depending on the individual cases.

Among those promoted to professor is Dr Samuel O. Orekoya of the Department of Economics, whose promotion takes effect from 2024.

Other academics elevated to professorial rank include Dr I. A. Salami of the Department of Early Childhood and Educational Foundations, whose promotion takes effect from 2022, and Dr Kemi Ogunsola of the Department of Data and Information Science.

The promotions cover several academic disciplines, reflecting the university’s continued advancement of staff across its departments.

Before her promotion, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of Educational Management at the University of Ibadan.

Her elevation to professor represents a significant milestone in her academic career and places her among the university’s senior academic staff.

The University of Ibadan, established in 1948, is Nigeria’s oldest university and has a long-standing role in higher education, research and academic development.
