Freelanews has unveiled the true story behind an abandoned gold-colour Toyota Sienna, where couple were found dead during an alleged sex romp.

The narrative being circulated in the media, not Freelanews, on Tuesday had it that passersby noticed a vehicle packed along Lagos/Ibadan expressway with couple died while having sex.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was alleged to have been on that spot for two days before a young man who passed by raised an alarm after peeping through the vehicle’s windshield.

Immediately, other passersby were attracted to the scene while someone took the initiative to record the incident, shared out the vehicle’s number plate and appealed that the video was shared widely for someone to claim the bodies and the vehicle. Watch video below.

While it was true that two dead bodies were found in the vehicle, a further probing by Freelanews revealed that the couple were not having sex. Rather, it was a case of manslaughter and then suicide.

The story started on Sunday evening, February 27, 2022, on No 10, Anuoluwapo Street in Bariga, where a misunderstanding turned fisticuffs. Kazeem, as the dead man was simply known, out of annoyance allegedly hit his girlfriend, Omowunmi, on her head.

According to the neighbours, the lady slumped and Kazeem was seen carrying her body in his vehicle and drove away that fateful evening. The onlookers didn’t really read so much to the incident because according to them, the couple were always arguing and fighting over one thing or the other before that day.

“We thought he was taking her to the clinic or something because we were used to that. They were like cat and mouse,” one of them said.

Besides, it was noted that he was already secretly betrothed to the dead lady unknown to his wife living with him somewhere in Mowe where he had his house and four children.

But the neighbours started suspecting foul play when the couple didn’t return that Sunday evening and Kazeem’s friends, one Orogbo, who is now at large, and Kunle Olayiwola, were seen the following day being Monday, February 28, in the rented apartment of the deceased. They claimed they were sent to pack phones and some money by Kazeem. After which they left.

The late Omowunmi’s brother was immediately alerted that her sister had been missing since the previous day after Kazeem was seen carrying her unconscious body into his vehicle. In addition, Kazeem’s friend came to the house to pack phones and money left in the house.

Immediately, the case was reported at Bariga Police Station and Olayiwola was arrested. The suspect explained that Arogbo, who was the direct friend of Kazeem, called them that they should go to the apartment to help him pack their phones and some money. He allegedly informed them to hold on to these items and await his further instruction.

In another scenario, Kazeem’s wife also made an appearance at the same location on Tuesday, March 1, asking for Kazeem. She was immediately directed to Bariga Police Station, where she was questioned on her mission to the house.

“On Monday evening, my husband called me that I should go to that address that he had committed a crime there. He also instructed me that I should sell some of our properties to cater for the children because he won’t make it out this alive.

“He said he would take sniper,” the wife narrated.

It was assumed when the wife received the call, it was late on Monday evening to start heading to Bariga from Mowe which is 38km apart and she decided to respond to her husband’s instruction the following day.

Through the description of the vehicle, it was linked to a viral video of a dead couple around Mowe being circulated in the internet.

As at the time everyone involved in Kazeem’s case were at Bariga Police Station, the dead couple and the Sienna had been moved to Mowe Police Station.

The DPO of Mowe Police Station informed colleagues at Bariga Police Station to send the wife over to identify the bodies and vehicle.

Armed with this information, the wife was informed to go to Mowe Police Station to identify a Toyota Sienna which matched the description of the vehicle she claimed her husband drove on the fateful day.

She was shocked to later found out that her husband was indeed dead and the viral story about a dead couple during sex was actually of her husband and his lover. The late man’s wife confessed that she was not aware that her husband had a stable girlfriend nor did introduction with any lady.

“Whenever he was not coming home, he usually claimed he was busy on some sites,” she said. The late Kazeem was an industrial carpentry contractor, who also handled interior designs for new building.

So far, one of Kazeem’s friend, Olayiwola, has been apprehended while the police are still on the look-out for Orogbo, as the other friend was simply known.

The deceased man was alleged to have five cars, but presently the Toyota Sienna and Yaris, which was towed from the late girlfriend’s house in Bariga, have been moved to the police station.
