The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has taken decisive action against discriminatory practices by shutting down a Chinese supermarket that was operating in Nigeria, restricting access to only Chinese nationals while denying entry to Nigerians.

The crackdown came after reports surfaced of the supermarket’s discriminatory policy, sparking outrage among Nigerians who condemned such prejudiced practices. The FCCPC swiftly responded to the situation, demonstrating its commitment to upholding consumer rights and combating discrimination in commercial establishments.
The Chinese supermarket, which had been trending on social media due to its discriminatory policy, faced repercussions as the FCCPC intervened to enforce fair and equal treatment for all consumers.
According to reports, Nigerians attempting to enter the supermarket were turned away at the door, while Chinese nationals were granted access without any restrictions. This blatant discrimination prompted widespread condemnation and calls for action from various quarters.
