FCE Abeokuta honours the Olota of Otta for his unwavering dedication to educational excellence and intellectual leadership in Nigeria
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he School of Education at the Federal College of Education (FCE), Abeokuta, has recognised His Majesty, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Ph.D., the Olota of Otta, for his exceptional leadership and significant contributions to the promotion of knowledge and quality education in Nigeria.

The ceremony, held on Monday, 7th April 2025, highlighted the enduring role of traditional rulers in advancing intellectual development.
Represented by the Onitetiku of Owode Otta, Oba Dr. Abduwasiu Ogungbayi, the Olota expressed deep appreciation to the institution for the prestigious honour.
“This honour has further inspired me to remain steadfast in our collective pursuit of a more enlightened and educated society through quality education,” the monarch stated.
The event also celebrated the achievements of Oba (Barr.) Dr. Jayeola Agunbiade, LL.M., the Alagbara of Agbara Kingdom, whose tireless efforts in societal development and educational reform earned him a place among the distinguished awardees.
A qualified lawyer and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), Oba Agunbiade was commended for blending professional excellence with community impact.
Notably, Kabiyesi Olota, despite his royal obligations, remains an active academic as a professor of journalism, continuing to teach and mentor students.
His devotion to education and the empowerment of the younger generation serves as a shining example of how traditional leadership can coexist with academic service.
