The school, which Adeyeye established in 2015, has grown around a simple guiding philosophy she often describes as wanting to “catch them young for Christ.”

That vision, she says, sits at the heart of a curriculum built to combine academic rigour with moral and spiritual formation.

Beyond the classroom, colleagues point to a quieter, more personal side of her work.

Over the years, Adeyeye has placed numerous children on scholarship, many of them left without a breadwinner after the death of a parent, and others whose families hit temporary financial difficulty.

In a country where the loss of a parent or a sudden drop in household income can end a child’s schooling altogether, such interventions carry real weight.

Education researchers have long flagged school fees as one of the most common reasons Nigerian children drop out, particularly at the primary and secondary levels, making private scholarship gestures like Adeyeye’s a meaningful, if modest, counterweight to a wider structural problem.

For Adeyeye, the motivation is not transactional.

“Your circumstances will not end your story,” she has told beneficiaries, a line colleagues say captures her approach to giving as an act of restoring hope rather than simply settling an invoice.

That philosophy has produced a transformative ripple effect within the school community, associates say, with several children who once faced the prospect of dropping out now progressing steadily through their studies.

Her giving, colleagues note, has rarely been announced or publicised.

Most of the scholarships have been arranged quietly, often coming to light only when families or staff members speak of them afterward, a pattern that has added to the sense of surprise and warmth around Tuesday’s tributes.

This account draws on tributes and recollections shared by close associates of the school in celebration of Adeyeye’s birthday, and reflects their characterisation of her work rather than independently verified enrolment or financial records.

Adeyeye’s supporters describe her birthday as more than a personal milestone, framing it instead as a moment to reflect on a decade of steady, largely unpublicised investment in other people’s children.
