The announcement was made by FilmOne Entertainment on X on March 17, giving viewers who missed its theatrical run a chance to watch the Nollywood blockbuster.
The film follows Aderonke “Ronky-Fella” Faniran, a successful real estate mogul and devoted mother, as she navigates the pressures of family, friends, and societal expectations.
At its core, ‘Behind The Scenes’ explores themes of personal boundaries, emotional labour, and the cost of success for women in leadership—issues that resonated strongly with Nigerian audiences.
Released nationwide on December 12, 2025, the movie opened to strong attendance in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.
It quickly became the fastest Nollywood film to reach ₦500 million and, within 19 days, crossed the ₦1 billion mark, making it the fastest Nigerian movie to hit that milestone.
Its overall cinema run eventually grossed over ₦2 billion, setting the record as the highest-grossing Nigerian movie of all time.
The film was produced by Akindele alongside Wendy Uwadiae Imasuen, co-directed with Tunde Olaoye, and written primarily by Akindele, supported by a team of screenwriters and creative consultants.
The Netflix Naija release allows the movie to reach wider audiences across Nigeria, Africa, and the diaspora, extending the film’s remarkable success beyond the box office.
