Peller was arrested in December 2025 after being involved in what authorities described as a deliberate car accident.
The Federal Road Safety Corps ordered his arrest and prosecution, citing reckless driving as the basis for the action.
The social media personality made the revelation on Saturday while exchanging pleasantries with Funke Akindele at the premiere of the film Love Notes in Lagos.
During the interaction, Peller openly expressed gratitude, describing the actress’s intervention as life-changing.
“She was the one who helped me when I was in prison. She was the one who helped my life,” Peller said, drawing attention from guests at the event.
While details of Funke Akindele’s intervention were not disclosed, the statement underscored a quieter, human side of the actress, who is widely celebrated for her dominance in Nigeria’s film industry and her influence beyond the screen.
The incident that led to Peller’s arrest had sparked online debate at the time, with road safety officials reiterating the dangers of reckless driving, particularly by influencers with large youth followings.
