Senator Gbenga Daniel expresses strong support for President Tinubu, saying Nigerians are yet to see his full leadership impact during an Abuja event
Senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, has expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying Nigerians are yet to witness the full impact of his leadership.

Daniel made the remark on Wednesday in Abuja during an event marking his 70th birthday and the unveiling of four books documenting his life and political journey.
The ceremony, held at the Yar’Adua Centre, attracted several prominent figures, including former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
Speaking at the event, Daniel described President Tinubu as a pragmatic and strategic leader whose approach to governance positively influenced his time as governor of Ogun State.
He noted that several policies implemented during his administration were inspired by Tinubu’s leadership style and political thinking.
Representing the President, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun praised Daniel as a long-standing ally and commended his contributions to business, politics, and public service.
Daniel was also recognised for his entrepreneurial success with Kresta Laurel and for key infrastructure and education projects delivered during his tenure as governor.
He highlighted initiatives such as the agro-allied cargo airport and the establishment of Tai Solarin University of Education as part of his legacy.
Beyond the commendations, Daniel used the occasion to call for stronger access to credible information in governance and public decision-making.
On national issues, he advocated reforms to address corruption, including proposals around the recovery of illicit funds held abroad.
He also called for a return to core ethical values rooted in the “Omoluabi” philosophy, stressing integrity, discipline, and accountability in leadership.
On security, Daniel expressed support for state policing, while urging the establishment of safeguards such as State Police Councils to ensure accountability.

The event also featured the unveiling of four books chronicling Daniel’s life, including *Daniel in the Lions’ Den* and My March through the Courts.
