The Job Vacancy was published on the embassy’s official website on Monday, outlining the need for a candidate to join its political unit on a 40-hour weekly schedule, with immediate commencement expected upon selection.

According to the embassy, the position is initially limited to one year but carries the prospect of permanent employment depending on performance and operational requirements.

The selected candidate will be responsible for monitoring media reports across print, online, and social platforms, while also maintaining key networks with political stakeholders and supporting diplomatic engagements and internal embassy projects.

Additional responsibilities include organising political events, conferences, and briefings, alongside conducting research on political, economic, and social developments relevant to the embassy’s mandate.

The embassy described the role as a critical support function within its political section, requiring a highly organised and detail-oriented professional capable of handling sensitive and fast-paced information.

Applicants are expected to hold at least a bachelor’s degree in disciplines such as law, political science, economics, international relations, or related fields.

Language proficiency is also a key requirement, with candidates expected to demonstrate at least C1-level English and B2-level German competence, reflecting the embassy’s commitment to effective cross-cultural communication.

Interested applicants are required to submit a cover letter and curriculum vitae in German, along with academic certificates and recommendation letters where applicable, via the official email address provided by the embassy.

The embassy has set April 30, 2026, as the closing date for applications, while shortlisted candidates will proceed to a selection process scheduled between May and June in Abuja.

Officials noted that only successful applicants would be contacted and emphasised that the embassy would not acknowledge receipt of applications or reimburse travel expenses for interviews.

The German Embassy Abuja Job Vacancy also encouraged qualified women to apply, underscoring its commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity in recruitment.
