Tomorrow, more witnesses will be called before the Akwa Ibom State High Court in Uyo to testify in the ongoing case of election fraud involving University of Uyo Professor Ignatius Uduk (UNIUYO).
Yesterday, the first prosecution witness, Mr. Vincent Akpowene Oghene, the Head of Electoral Operations at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Uyo, was cross examined.
Uduk, a professor of Physical and Health Education, who was the Collation/Returning Officer for Essien Udim State Constituency in 2019 elections, is being tried for allegedly announcing and publishing false election results.
During cross-examination, Mr. Oghene told the court that he knew Prof. Uduk during the election, and attested that the signatures on the documents that were admitted as evidence by the court belonged to the accused person. Justice Bassey Nkanang adjourned the case till tomorrow for continuation of hearing.
