Governor Umo Eno celebrates Davido’s 5ive Alive tour stop in Akwa Ibom, praising the artist for highlighting the state’s peace, hospitality, and world-class facilities.
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has expressed delight at hosting global Afrobeats star Davido, who chose the state as the first Nigerian stop on his international 5ive Alive tour.

In a message shared on X, the governor said Davido’s choice reflects Akwa Ibom’s growing appeal as a peaceful, youth-friendly and tourism-driven destination.
“Last night, we hosted music icon @davido here in Akwa Ibom, and he made history by choosing our state as the first stop in Nigeria for his global tour,” Governor Umo Eno wrote.
He quoted the award-winning singer as describing Akwa Ibom as outstanding for its “world-class facilities, peace, and hospitality,” noting that Davido called the state “beautiful in every way.”
The governor said the visit demonstrates Akwa Ibom’s success in building an enabling environment for creativity and investment. “I appreciate Davido for recognising our efforts to make Akwa Ibom a youth-friendly and tourism-driven state.
His success story inspires our young people to believe that with commitment and consistency, their dreams are possible,” Eno stated.
He added that the administration’s vision is to position the state as both an entertainment hub and a centre for broader economic growth. “Akwa Ibom is open, peaceful, and ready, not just for entertainment, but for investment and development,” the governor affirmed.
