Patience Odianose, a Nigerian based in the United States of America, has accused Saheed Babalola, her ex-lover, of swindling her out of $4,553.

Odianose explained that in early 2021, Babalola, her boyfriend at the time, asked her to lend him $6,553 for a car purchase, with a promise to repay soon.

She said he repaid $2,000 after getting the money, ended the relationship and went on to block every line of communication between them.

Odianose said the incident has left her in serious debt and pilling bills, adding that she has been unable to move past it. She also claimed she no longer has direct access to him as he lives in Missouri, while she resides in California.

“I was in Gemany before relocating to USA. When I was still in Germany, he begged to borrow some money to get a car. When he wouldn’t stop begging me, I agreed to lend him the money,” she said.

She said she sent Babalola $1,700 in July 2021 and continued sending several sums in tranches to him until it totalled $6,553 in November 2021.

Odianose said she had to enlist the help of one of Babalola’s friends to help recover $2,000 he paid in early 2022.

She would later learn, in April 2022, that Babalola had blocked her across all social media platforms.
