I created every style of music in last 20 years – says Kanye West

Renowned American hip-hop artiste Kanye West has claimed that he created “every style of music” that has been dominant in pop culture in the past two decades.

He insinuated that he created trap, drill, contemporary R&B, and basement.

He added that he inspired the musical styles of his colleagues, The Weeknd, Drake and Travis Scott, as well as Future and Young Thug.

“I created this genre. I created Weeknd’s genre, Trav, Drake. I’m gon’ head and say it with all love Future and Thug also,” Daily Loud quoted him as saying.

Kanye West recently announced that Nigeria will be featuring in his upcoming tour which will start in Toronto, Canada on June 22, 2024, and continue across the US until August, when it will move to Mexico.

He will then tour Spain, Egypt, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates before touching down in Kenya and Nigeria in December.

Moving from Africa, Kanye will move to Australia in January 2025, and then conclude the tour in Japan in February.

West and Ty Dolla $ign have been teasing the release of ‘Vultures’ since August 2023.

Over the past months, the rappers have set different release dates for the album, but have failed to deliver the projects on the said days.

Kanye West visit Lagos as part of his 2024 tour, it would be the second time he is performing in the commercial capital of Nigeria and the economic hub of West Africa. The music star was part of the global singers who performed at the Mega Star Jam in 2007.

Kanye West also signed D’Banj to his label GOOD Music in 2011.
