Eyewitnesses described the moment as surreal and deeply distressing. “When the incident happened, I initially thought it was a large bird falling from the sky.

It was only when the person landed that I realised it was a human being,” said one witness, visibly shaken. “I had my phone with me but I couldn’t even record anything because I was completely shocked.”

Another eyewitness reported that the man first struck the roof beside the building’s security post before hitting the ground. “It was a terrifying sight,” the passerby recounted.

The exact circumstances surrounding the fall remain uncertain. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether it was an accident, a deliberate act, or possibly related to structural issues. An investigation is currently underway.

“The individual involved was swiftly attended to by the emergency response team and taken to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, for urgent medical attention

Odu’a Investment Company Limited, the firm responsible for managing Cocoa House, released an official statement on Tuesday. Victor Ayetoro, Head of Branding and Communication at the company, stated:

He added that the company is cooperating fully with investigators to determine the cause of the incident and reiterated its dedication to ensuring public safety.

“The company expressed deep concerns over the development and assured the public of its full cooperation with authorities investigating the cause of the fall,” Ayetoro noted.
