Odu’a Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture in partnership with West Africa Vocational Education, WAVE, has commenced a policy dialogue convention in Ekiti State.
The dialogue, which is organised to meet the challenges and expose opportunities open to the youths in education and employment value chains, is themed Post COVID-19 Rethinking Talent: Rewiring The Education To Employment System.
The talks will be held across the south western states of Nigeria while stakeholders and policy makers in the education industry have been slated to attend the dialogues for robust discourse on bridging the gap of unemployment in the region.
The attendees include Commissioners of Youth and Sports, Commissioners of Education and Commissioners of Commerce and Industry in all the states where the events are taking place alongside youth based non-governmental organisations, human resources companies, Deans of School of Managements of selected universities and captains of industries.
This is being done to draw their unique experiences and ideas through solution-oriented sessions and to discuss opportunities for a seamless education to employment traffic.
Among other things, the event is to provide solution to manpower industrial needs of members of Chambers of Commerce and other organized private sector in the southwest while empowering the education sector and youths organisations in formulating policies suitable to fill the 5-10 years need-gap.
Ekiti State was ticked on November 30, 2020 at the Ekiti Chambers of Commerce in Ado Ekiti, Akure Chambers of Commerce House, Ondo State, will be hosting the discourse on December 2 and Odu’a Building, Trade Fair Complex (Aje International Market) at Iwo Road, Osogbo is the venue for Osun State on December 4, 2020.
Other venues are Abeokuta Chamber of Commerce house in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State on December 8 and ODUACCIMA Secretariat, Cocoa House, Dugbe, Ibadan on Decmber 10, 2020.
The event starts at 10:00am in all centres.
