The board said the extension aims to ensure that no eligible applicant is left out of the ongoing Direct Entry registration process.
To ease pressure on existing centres, the board also approved five additional registration centres in high-demand areas.
The newly approved centres include the Centre for Open and Distance Learning at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, and Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State.
Others are Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State; the Prof. Usman E-Learning Centre at the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo State; and Human Development Initiatives (Grace House), Iwaya, Lagos.
The Lagos centre is expected to begin operations on April 30, 2026.
The board reaffirmed that its offices nationwide, including Professional Registration Centres and Professional Testing Centres, remain open for the 2026 Direct Entry exercise.
